Karolyn, indomitable spirit, sine qua non. She made me a better person (sometimes by butting heads with me!) and our neighborhood in Tucson a better place. The way Karolyn's mind worked was a delight to me. She was full of surprises . . . quirky insights into complex issues, angles I never would have seen. She boldly went where I would have feared to go, dragging me along as she networked with folks I wouldn't have dared to approach. It's hard to imagine battling the forces that drive urban blight in our community without her.
